U.S. sales of medium- and heavy-duty trucks in May outpaced their 2009 performance by 16.1% -- marking the year’s largest gain, according to WardsAuto.com. It was noted that “April had been the industry’s best performance, until last month, with a 10.8% sales boost.”

Additionally, WardsAuto.com has found that Canada’s big-truck market recorded a 28.9% sales hike in May, “boosted by a whopping 50.6% jump in Class 8 deliveries.”
