Continental Tire is adding an extra load rating for its HDL2 DL [Heavy Drive Long Haul Deep Lug] tire. The tire model itself was introduced in January 2009.

The additional rating is a load range H in the 11R22.5 size, giving this Continental drive tire additional capacity of 435 lbs of useful load in a single fitment, said the company.

The HDL2 DL is produced at Continental’s Mount Vernon, IL plant and represents its deepest truck tire tread offering at 32/32” depth.

Continental said the tire’s closed shoulder tread design provides excellent traction in both wet and dry road conditions and resists irregular wear. It also boasts a lug angle designed to provide improved traction throughout the life of the original tire and a wider casing to increase stability.
