FedEx Corp. is boosting rates for its FedEx Ground and FedEx Home Delivery service a net average of 4.9% effective Jan. 2, which follows increases to its express and LTL services that were announced back in September.

Rates for FedEx Ground and FedEx Home Delivery are actually increasing 5.9%, but are being partially offset by adjusting their fuel surcharge thresholds down one percentage point. FedEx also plans to boost rates for its FedEx Express service by a net average of 3.9% for U.S. domestic, U.S. export and U.S. import services, also effective Jan. 2.

The company previously implemented a 6.75% general rate increase back on Sept. 6 for its FedEx Freight LTL division.

The move comes upon the heels of similar rate increases announced by rival United Parcel Service back in November.
