Shell is rolling out a limited warranty for several blended products within its Rotella engine oil line that provides engine protection up to 500,000 miles. The warranty comes free with the purchase of Shell Rotella T6 full synthetic or Shell Rotella T5 synthetic blend or Shell Rotella Triple Protection heavy-duty engine oils.

Coverage is for ten heavy-duty diesel engine parts for do-it-yourself and installed customer oil changes for up to 10 years or 500,000 miles, said Chris Guerrero, global brand manager for Shell Rotella.

He added that this limited warranty covers Class 2c – Class 8 vehicles with heavy-duty diesel engines used in on-road applications with a GVWR of 80,000 lbs or less.

The vehicle to be covered may be owned or leased, and must have been driven 50,000 miles or less when the owner first used an eligible Shell Rotella engine oil. The manufactured date of the vehicle must also be within the last 24 months of the first use of an eligible Shell Rotella engine oil and other conditions also apply, Guerrero stressed.

The warranty also takes effect six months after the first purchase of an eligible Shell Rotella engine oil and stays in effect as long as the terms and conditions of the program are followed, he added.
