Fikes Truck Line has appointed Gary Salisbury president & CEO, replacing owner and former president Jim Smith, who will continue to serve as chairman of the board. In addition, Jerry Davis has been promoted to executive vp.
Salisbury and Davis were the first two contractors to join Fikes after Smith purchased Fikes in 1981, becoming members of the staff after several years of hauling goods for the company.
Salisbury has worked in dispatch, sales and recruiting, and has been senior vp & COO since 2003. Davis founded the company’s safety department in 1986, becoming a vp in 2001.
