Daimler AG has announced that Martin Daum will become head of Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA), replacing Chris Patterson, who will retire effective June 1 after 32 years with the company.

Daum, currently head of operations at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Woerth, Germany, has been with the Daimler Group for over 20 years. He has held various management position at Daimler’s commercial vehicles subsidiaries in the U.S. before becoming head of commercial vehicles strategy in Stuttgart, Germany and then head of operations in Woerth.

Patterson is currently president & CEO of DTNA. He had previously been promoted to president & CEO of Freightliner LLC in 2005 after serving as the company’s senior vp, service & parts and as president of Freightliner of Canada, Ltd.

In addition, Daimler AG said Dr. Albert Kirchmann will become head of Daimler Trucks Asia, in which function he will also be president & CEO of Mitsubishi Fuso Truck & Bus Corp. Kirchmann, currently the head of finance & controlling, business and product planning at Daimler Trucks & Buses, will replace the retiring Harold Boelstler, effective June 1st.
