Heil’s Baratti dies suddenly

According to Heil Environmental, David Baratti, vp of sales and marketing for the firm, died this past weekend at home in Chattanooga. Further details, including funeral arrangements, are not yet available. He is survived by his wife, Angie, and daughter, Caitlyn.

Baratti joined Heil in January 2002 as general sales manager, eastern region. He was promoted to director of marketing in June 2002. In May 2005, he was promoted to vp North American sales and to vp, sales and marketing in February 2006. In this position, he had global responsibility for all of Heil’s sales and marketing activities, product development and customer support.

Baratti came to Heil from Grote Industries, a vehicle safety systems manufacturer, which he had joined in 1990 as a field rep. After a stint as Southeast regional sales manager, he spent four years as Grote’s manager of marketing services, with responsibility for marketing, product development and customer service. He was named director of OEM sales in 1997 and held this position until he joined Heil.

An Arkansas native, Baratti graduated from Arkansas State University in 1982 with a bachelor’s degree in marketing. He spent the next seven years at NAPA Auto Parts, where he led a number of sales and marketing teams.
