Transcard has announced it will donate 100% of all payroll card transaction fees on April 22nd—Earth Day—to rain forest projects in the Amazon as well as towards establishing a “Transcard Green” division.
The division will support the development, education, and promotion of environmental projects, Transcard said.
“Last month, Transcard announced the launch of Transcard Mobile, a text-based payroll stub that allows employees to receive their stubs electronically on a text-based mobile phone, eliminating the use of paper and waste in the process,” Craig Fuller, CEO of Transcard added.
According to the company, the initiatives also will include working with clients to establish a car-pool gasoline incentive program; adding mass-transit incentive programs to the Transcard payroll card; investing in carbon emissions-reducing technologies and systems and educating employers on electronic payroll-card environmental advantages.
