A&S Services Group acquires Kinard Trucking

June 19, 2012

A&S Services Group, LLC (A&S), announced that it has acquired substantially all of the assets of Kinard Trucking, Inc., and its affiliates, creating what A&S calls a leading transportation solutions firm to serve major shippers in the Mid-Atlantic region, from the Northeast to North Carolina and as far west as Indiana. The terms of the asset purchase were not disclosed.

Joining the two companies leverages the strengths of both organizations, according to Ken Buck, A&S president, who said the merger will help the company increase the rate of growth and combine resources and skilled employees.

With facilities in Maryland and South Central Pennsylvania, A&S provides trucking, warehousing and logistics services in the Mid-Atlantic region. Based in York, PA, Kinard is a provider of short-haul trucking and warehousing services. It serves customers across a number of industries, such as food, textiles, apparel, furniture, appliances, chemicals, non-bulk petroleum products, rubber, plastics, metal and wood products. Kinard will operate as a division of A&S Services Group, LLC.

Both companies are designated SmartWay Transport Partners.

"We are excited to add Kinard to our leading short-haul trucking, warehousing and logistics business serving the extended Mid-Atlantic region,” Buck said. “A&S and Kinard are a natural fit, with similar values and cultures. Our focus on high-quality, best-in-class customer service will be boosted by enlarging our addressable market and enhancing our presence and strength."

"We are growing aggressively in the Mid-Atlantic region, looking for additional acquisitions and recruiting to add to our professional driving staff. Experienced drivers should visit our website to apply, " Buck added.
