• J.B. Hunt Transport Services exceeded analysts’ expectations, posting a 34% increase in profit in its first quarter despite West Coast port problems, The Wall Street Journal reported.

The American Trucking Association urges motorists to stay off their cell phones as part of National Distracted Driving Month, according to Consumer Electronics Net.

Logistics has become a ‘booming business’ for Georgia’s economy, according to a report in Business in Savannah.

• CSA citations for commercial driver-fitness violations are on the decline, according to Transport Topics.

Free coffee returns to rest stops along Washington state highways after signs for free coffee were removed in 2012, according to MyNorthwest.com.

• Actor Sylvester Stallone is following in the footsteps of Jean-Claude Van Damme’s successful Volvo Trucks commercial with one of his own, driving a bread delivery truck. See the commercial at NDTVAuto.

• One county in Michigan is so desperate to upgrade its snow plow fleet that it is looking for help in buying used state equipment. A new bill introduced in the state senate may give the county a chance to make first bids on auction equipment, says the Great Lakes Echo.
