DAT expands business offerings with the introduction of Copilot and DAT University

DAT Freight & Analytics is supporting aspiring owner-operators and freight brokers through the new DAT Copilot Authority Program and DAT University, offering guidance on regulations and skills for success.

DAT Freight & Analytics recently introduced two new services to help aspiring owner-operators and freight brokers launch and grow their businesses.

Copilot Authority Program

The DAT Copilot Authority Program offers coaching to new business owners on navigating the process of obtaining federal motor carrier authority. Copilot guides users through every step, including:

  • Meeting liability and cargo insurance requirements
  • Applying for a USDOT number, BOC-3, and registering with the Unified Registration System
  • Complying with fuel taxes, vehicle registration, Heavy Vehicle Use Tax, FMCSA drug and alcohol tests, and more
  • Saving on fuel and non-recourse factoring with OTR Solutions

“Many new trucking company owners and brokers feel overwhelmed by the legal and administrative hurdles of starting a business,” Christian Greiner, senior director of the carrier business at DAT Freight & Analytics, said. “With Copilot, DAT provides guidance and helps manage the paperwork so you can build a trustworthy carrier profile and focus on finding freight.”
