Five Good Things started as a beacon in a dark tunnel at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, as readers were exhausted by constant bad news and craving something good. Here's a look at the top 10 editions of Five Good Things in 2021.

This year marks the first full year of Five Good Things, a weekly collection of charitable deeds done by the trucking industry and shared with us at FleetOwner. The craving for some brightness began at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, but the good work and positive support by the trucking community continues and has been the lifeblood of FGT. 

Here's a look at the top 10 editions of Five Good Things in 2021. 

10. Five good things that happened in trucking this week—April 30

This blog has continued to highlight the coming together of the trucking industry for the greater good—a greater good of the community, its people, and even the world. This week is no different as the industry has collected its resources and made a global impact to aid India, which has been hit especially hard by COVID-19. In that same spirit of giving back, here are five good things that happened in trucking the week of April 30.

I was reminded of that this week when a friend of my family died of COVID-19. Life is precious. Sunshine is precious. As we enter the second fall season during the COVID-19 pandemic, I am reminded of where we were last year: working from home, isolating from families, hesitant to turn on the news for the latest COVID numbers. Where was trucking this time last year? The same place it always is—out on the road, helping others, and making a difference. It’s my pleasure to continue sharing the good. Day after day, week after week, month after month, I have never been disappointed by the trucking industry's capacity to give back. When I first started this blog, I was overwhelmed by the trucking community's support during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, when people were out of work or struggling from loss and sickness. I am pleased to say that support has not died down. Here are five good things that happened in trucking the week of Nov. 5.

Last year, I started this blog to shine a light on the good things happening in the world to break through the darkness that filled our screens. Today is no exception. Our thoughts and prayers are with those affected by the tragic shooting at an Indianapolis FedEx facility that occurred late last night. While the trucking industry is shrouded in darkness, I hope you can still find the light. Here are five good things that happened in trucking the week of April 16.
