The Virtual People’s Choice Award returns to Shell Rotella SuperRigs 2025
The annual Virtual People’s Choice Award is once again part of this year’s Shell Rotella SuperRigs competition, giving truck drivers across North America the chance to join the action, even if they can’t make it to Atlanta Motor Speedway.
This fan-favorite category allows drivers to submit photos of their trucks online for a chance to be crowned the Virtual People’s Choice Award winner. Submissions are open now through May 15 at 4:00 p.m. CT.
Voting begins on May 16 at 8:00 a.m. CT and runs through May 30 at 4:00 p.m. CT, allowing fans, friends, and family to vote for their favorite rig. Each vote not only edges a driver closer to this award but also contributes to a cause; for every vote received, $1 will be donated to the St. Christopher Truckers Relief Fund, which assists truck drivers in need. The winner will be announced during the SuperRigs awards ceremony.
Mercedes-Benz USA and Atlanta Falcons Running Back Bijan Robinson join forces with Backpack Buddies of Metro Atlanta
In celebration of National Volunteer Week, Mercedes-Benz USA and Atlanta Falcons Running Back Bijan Robinson teamed up with the nonprofit Backpack Buddies of Metro Atlanta to provide food supplies and meals to children in Atlanta who face food insecurity. Many students rely on subsidized school meals to receive proper nutrition throughout the week, which can leave them vulnerable to hunger on weekends. Backpack Buddies of Metro Atlanta works to bridge the gap for students who lack access to nutritious food on weekends and holidays, enabling them to focus, learn, and thrive outside of the classroom.
The meal-packing event was part of MBUSA’s fourth annual National Volunteer Week initiative, which featured a week-long series of employee volunteer events held nationwide. These efforts underscore MBUSA’s national corporate social responsibility mission, "Driving Your Future," which supports programming and resources necessary to foster development and empower young people for future success.
“At Mercedes-Benz, we understand the power of community and the importance of working together to empower the next generation,” Dimitris Psillakis, president and CEO of Mercedes-Benz USA, said. “Volunteering has always been an integral part of our culture, and National Volunteer Week is a testament to the collective dedication of our employee volunteers who devote their time to causes that create positive change and help build stronger communities.”
The Backpack Buddies of Metro Atlanta volunteer event was held at MBUSA’s headquarters in Atlanta on April 21, bringing together more than 500 MBUSA employee volunteers who assembled over 6,000 meals, totaling 7,200 lb. of food. These meals will be distributed to children across the Metro Atlanta area, helping to fuel their mental and physical well-being.
62 students to receive scholarships totaling over $175,000 from TCA Scholarship Fund
The Truckload Carriers Association has recently named its 2025-26 TCA Scholarship Fund recipients, who will collectively receive a total of $176,725.
Since 1973, the fund has been providing scholarships to students associated with the trucking industry. Each scholarship recipient must be a student in good standing attending a four-year or two-year college or university and must be associated with a TCA member company.
"The TCA Scholarship Fund remains one of the most valuable initiatives offered through TCA membership, providing an opportunity to give back and honor the legacy and future of the truckload industry,” Joey Hogen of Coventant Logistics, TCA Scholarship Fund chairman, said. “In the face of economic challenges, we were able to provide over $176,000 in scholarship monies, which reflects TCA’s strong commitment to this important program.”

PepsiCo’s "Rolling Remembrance" American Flag relay marks 10 years
An American flag, first flown by the U.S. military in combat, has set off on its nearly 14,000-mile "Rolling Remembrance" relay to help raise awareness and funds for Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation, an organization that provides college scholarships and educational counseling to children who have lost a parent in the line of duty. Throughout the relay, 59 PepsiCo drivers, who are also military veterans, will transport the American flag across the country, passing it off to one another from Seattle to New York.
According to the Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation, nearly 25,000 children have lost a parent in the line of duty over the past 35 years. Many surviving families also struggle to make ends meet, with 52% of surviving spouses making less than $50,000 per year. This organization works to support each of these children through funding that helps them with their education.
Rolling Remembrance has become an annual tradition at PepsiCo, and in its 10th year, it has raised more than $3 million for the Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation. The foundation states that the funds translate to more than 480 years of college education for its scholars.
"We are proud to partner with PepsiCo for the 10th Annual Rolling Remembrance relay—a powerful tribute that honors the fallen by investing in the futures they left behind,” David Kim, co-founder and CEO of the Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation, said. “Over the years, this program has not only funded life-changing educations for our Gold Star scholars but has also helped us reach new families who deserve our support. PepsiCo’s unwavering commitment is a driving force behind our mission, and we are deeply grateful for their partnership.”
For most of the year, the Rolling Remembrance flag is displayed at PepsiCo's global headquarters in Purchase, New York. On March 20, the Rolling Remembrance flag started its journey, carried by JetBlue, flying from New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport to Seattle Tacoma International Airport, first stopping by Boston Logan International Airport, and is now continuing its 64-stop journey throughout the U.S. on the ground, carried on trucks on regular business routes. The relay will conclude with a ceremony as the flag returns to PepsiCo's headquarters just before Memorial Day.
"I’m honored to mark the 10th year of Rolling Remembrance with Children of Fallen Patriots as our partner. The military veteran drivers at PepsiCo are always honored to get the chance to transport the Rolling Remembrance flag and shine a light on the importance of contributing to the education of military children who lost a parent in the line of duty," said Jim Farrell, SVP, PepsiCo North America, fleet and transportation, and executive sponsor of PepsiCo Valor. "Rolling Remembrance supports the Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation and also recognizes some of incredible veteran drivers in our organization. It has been an honor to see this program and its impact grow over the past decade."
