IMC Revenues Rise in First-Quarter 2000 Intermodal marketing companies (IMCs) reported gains in highway revenues for first-quarter 2000, according to results published in the latest edition of the Intermodal Association of North America's IMC Market Activity Report.
Average intermodal revenue rose slightly, and IMCs reported significant increases in highway revenue per load. Highway revenues rose 8.4% in the first three months of 2000.
On the volume side, a soft January put first-quarter 2000 intermodal load totals 2.6% below first-quarter 1999 and highway loads 3.7% lower, leaving the total down 3.1% for the quarter. February intermodal loads were the same as February 1999, and March 2000 loads were up.
The IMC Market Activity Report analyzes intermodal loads, highway truckloads, intermodal revenues, highway truck revenues, and other revenues, and provides an analysis of the IMC market and overall economy. The report is produced quarterly and is only available via subscription. For further information, e-mail Ed Rosen at [email protected], or phone 301-982-3400.
