US Foodservice has announced that its chain restaurant division will operate under the name North Star Foodservice.

North Star's new organizational structure was based on customer input, according to Pat Mulhern, division president. “Our new slogan, ‘Making Your Business Ours,’ reflects our exclusive focus on the challenging distribution requirements of casual dining, fast-casual, and quick-service companies,” he said.

Employing 2,100 associates at 11 locations in the United States, North Star serves regional and national chains. It is part of America's second-largest foodservice distribution company, US Foodservice. In 2005, the division tallied sales of $2.8 billion and shipped more than 114 million cases of product to restaurant companies.
