Shaw's Supermarkets has voluntarily removed from sale its 48-ounce (3-lb) package of Shaw's brand frozen Italian meatballs, sold at its stores throughout New England and Star Markets in Massachusetts. The product is being recalled because pieces of glass or glass-like substance have been found in some meatballs.

The recalled meatballs have an expiration date of 01-08-05 and this UPC bar code: 045674 58925. Customers who purchased the meatballs can bring the product back to any Shaw's or Star Market for a full refund. Those who have questions or concerns can phone Shaw's Consumer Response Center's toll-free number at 888-431-7429.
