Cabot Creamery, an 86-year-old dairy farmer-owned cooperative and cheese maker, plans to implement RedPrairie's warehouse management and Commander/QA Recall systems, as well as its visibility, supplier management, and report writing applications.

RedPrairie's warehouse management system will provide Cabot automated inventory management and operational efficiency. Cabot will also leverage RedPrairie's slotting application to optimize the location of products in the warehouse based on frequency of use, projected and historical product demand, as well as seasonal changes in product demand. System-directed radio frequency instructions will ensure that every employee is operating at maximum efficiency by eliminating any unnecessary travel.

The cheese maker will achieve improved quality control for its perishable products using RedPrairie's Commander / QA recall system, which enables tracking and recall by lot number, code, and expiration date across many facilities in the network. Cabot will obtain enhanced visibility to both inbound and outbound orders using RedPrairie's visibility application, LENS.

RedPrairie's systems will be implemented initially at Cabot's main production site and several small distribution centers in April and May.
