Effective June 1, 2002, Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems LLC has become North American distributor and principal sales team for Knorr-Bremse ABS products, a role Bendix acquired from Eaton Corp. All Knorr-Bremse ABS product lines will be marketed in North America under the Bendix brand name.

Eaton Roadranger field representatives will continue to provide fleet and dealer sales and service support for the Bendix/Knorr-Bremse ABS product line. Due to the scope of the product line, and to facilitate a smooth transition, products will be available through Bendix using existing Eaton-based part numbers until further notice.

Bendix will continue to offer its EC-30/MC-30 and EC-17/MC-17 ABS systems for trucks, tractors, buses, coaches, and trailers as part of its full ABS product offering.

The acquisition comes just more than one month after Knorr-Bremse AG assumed full ownership of Bendix from Honeywell International Inc.

Bendix will manage operations and coordinate distribution of the expanded line out of its Huntington IN plant. Bendix will continue to offer product management and engineering technical support out of its Elyria OH headquarters.
