As a result of current lower fuel prices, Matson Navigation Co Inc has reduced its fuel surcharge by one point — from 4.25% to 3.25% — in its Hawaii and Guam services effective Nov 25, 2001.

Matson first implemented a 1.75% fuel surcharge Oct 11, 1999. This surcharge was raised Feb 20, 2000, to 2.25%, and April 2, 2000, it rose to 3.25%. The 4.25% surcharge was implemented Oct 15, 2000.
