Champion Laboratories Inc has announced a major growth initiative that involves an investment of more than $50 million to upgrade facilities, improve working conditions, increase overall capacity, and reduce costs. According to Tom Mowatt, president of Champion, “Our new owner (UCI) has given us approval to proceed with the largest expansion program in the history of Champion Laboratories.”

Headquartered in Albion IL, Champion is a supplier of automotive and heavy-duty filters for original equipment manufacturers and the aftermarket. It operates plants in Illinois, Michigan, South Carolina, Mexico, and England with distribution points in Illinois, Michigan, South Carolina, California, England, France, Costa Rica, and Canada.
