Consolidated Metco Inc (ConMet) has introduced an interactive PreSet hub training program available at www.conmet.com. The new on-line training program, designed for truck and trailer service technicians, follows ConMet's introduction of a PreSet hub training CD-ROM in November, 2006.
The training programs instruct technicians on the proper identification, removal, servicing, and reinstallation of ConMet's PreSet hub assemblies. Technicians answer questions at the end of each chapter and are notified of their overall score. After successfully completing the training session, the technician can print out a customized PreSet hub training “Certification of Achievement.”
The 45-minute training session uses realistic animation to illustrate instructions on subjects including:
Inspection and preventative maintenance
Lubricant requirements
Hub removal and disassembly
Functional checks
End play measurement
Inspection, repair and replacement of hub and hub components
Hub pilot versus ball seat wheel mounting systems
A “Frequently Asked Questions” (FAQ's) section is available at the end of the training program.
