Peterbilt Motors Co has broken ground on an expansion project at its Denton TX-based division headquarters that will create additional offices for Paccar Financial and PacLease, an underground parking facility, and hotel-like accommodations for guests. The project, scheduled to be completed in April 2002, will provide an additional 31,745 square feet of space, bringing the division's total square footage to 96,745.

Total cost of the project is about $6 million. To help offset the expense, Peterbilt secured a 10-year tax abatement with the City of Denton and Denton County, and a seven-year abatement with the school district on the cost of the improvements.
