The Meritor Tire Inflation System (MTIS) by Pressure Systems International (PSI) was selected a winner of the 2000 R&D 100 Award, sponsored by R&D Magazine and judged by a panel of independent experts. Developed by PSI and Southwest Research Institute and marketed by ArvinMeritor, the MTIS automatically monitors and maintains consistent air pressure in heavy-duty trailer tires, helping to decrease tire blowouts and reduce tire maintenance costs.
