The National Accounting & Finance Council of the American Trucking Associations has released a new product that provides estimates on potential taxes that motor carriers may encounter. The publication, Taxes on Motor Carriers: An Overview of the Typical Federal and State Taxes on a Generic 80,000-lb GVW Truck.

Designed to illustrate the federal and state tax burden on motor carriers, this publication provides information on the various taxes that may be imposed on a hypothetical 80,000-lb GVW truck. Whether dedicated or random lanes, this study offers estimates of the taxes paid by less-than-truckload and truckload carriers under specific circumstances.
