ArvinMeritor Inc has announced that production has begun on schedule at its new Suspensys joint venture with Randon Participacoes of Brazil. Announced in August 2002, the facility is manufacturing truck suspensions, trailer axles and suspensions, and related wheel-end equipment initially for the South American heavy-duty vehicle market. Components are manufactured by Suspensys at a new, 174,000-square-foot facility in Caxias do Sul, Brazil. The components from the venture are being used by original equipment manufacturers in South America, and exports will begin soon to Europe and North America.
