Packerland salutes safety of its drivers

Packerland Transport honored more than 140 of its drivers at recent Driver Safety Awards events at four locations nationwide.

Among those honored were Paul Van Vleet, William Fischer, and Shirley Fendley, who each accumulated one million safe miles, as well as Wayne Kratz and William Shelton for accumulating two million safe miles. Vern Klicko, Rick Rein, Jesus Agosto, and Patrick Maher were recognized for accumulating 10 safe years; Lester Cornman for 20 safe years; and Paul Bergey for 30 safe years. Each driver received awards from Packerland and the National Safety Council.

Special recognition was given to Milton Schwan, who was named the Packerland Transport Safe Driver of the Year for 2006. This award was sponsored by HNI Risk Services, New Berlin WI. He has accumulated 33 safe years and 3.9 million safe miles since he started with Packerland in 1973.
