Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd and Nissan Motor Co Ltd have announced in Japan an agreement in principle to establish a cooperative relationship within the material-handling industry. The relationship is expected to be global in nature and will include elements from product development to marketing.

Initially, the new agreement assists both organizations in developing new products. A major emphasis will be on the development of new 1- to 3-ton class engine-powered models that will be distributed globally via each company. Another key element will be the diversity of products from each company.
