Gunite Corp has opened a new 39,000-square-foot plant in Elkhart IN, the first new facility to be opened by Gunite in more than 15 years.

John Crume, plant manager for the Elkhart operation, said, “This facility will house our new state-of-the-art slack adjuster production operation. We have designed this facility around cellular manufacturing technology to allow us not only improved production capabilities, but also to add increased support to our corporatewide quality management in initiatives.

“In addition, the location of this facility improves our access to major thoroughfares to allow for more efficiency in our shipping of parts to our customers,” he said. “Finally, the facility has been designed to provide our employees a safer and more comfortable work environment in which to manufacture our products.”
