Marten Transport Ltd, a refrigerated truckload carrier based in Mondovi WI, has reported net income of $3.5 million, or 24 cents per share, for the fourth quarter ended Dec 31, 2003, versus $579,000, or 6 cents, in the same period a year earlier. For the year ended Dec 31, 2003, net income surged 98.3% to $11.8 million from $6.0 million for 2002.

Operating revenue for the 2003 fourth quarter rose 11.7% to $85.2 million. For the year ended Dec 31, 2003, operating revenue climbed 14.2%, to $334.7 million from $293.1 million for 2002.
