Transport International Pool (TIP), a GE Capital company, has acquired substantially all of the over-the-road and storage trailer assets and related lease portfolio of Action Trailer Leasing, a trailer rental and leasing business based in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Under the agreement, Action's 3,600 trailers will be integrated into TIP's Canadian fleet. Also, Action branches in Montreal, Quebec; Toronto, Ontario; Calgary, Alberta; and Moncton, New Brunswick will be consolidated with TIP's Canadian branch network. Action will continue to operate its Utility trailer dealerships for Ontario and Quebec out of its existing facilities in Mississauga and Montreal, as well as rent a limited number of trailers on a short-term basis.
