Susan Goodell, executive director of Forgotten Harvest, accepted the keys to the vehicle from Klaus Entenmann, president and chief executive officer of DaimlerChrysler Services North America, in a surprise presentation.

“This new truck will help ensure that more than 6 million pounds of food are provided annually to people in need,” Goodell said. “We plan to use this new truck to deliver food to victims of Hurricane Katrina who have moved to southeast Michigan.”

To date, DaimlerChrysler Services and its employees have donated more than $300,000 to the American Red Cross to aid victims of Katrina.

In making the donation, DaimlerChrysler Services North America. the financial services unit of DaimlerChrysler AG, was aided by its Truck Finance division and a Freightliner dealership in Mount Clemens MI.
