The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Co Inc has completed two separate and previously announced transactions for the sale of eight A&P stores in northern New England to GU Family Markets LLC (Clifton Park NY), and seven Kohl’s Supermarkets in Madison WI to The Copps Corp, a subsidiary of Pewaukee WI-based Roundy’s Inc.

Terms of the transactions were not disclosed. A&P said William Blair & Co served as financial advisor for the transactions.

Founded in 1859, A&P is one of the nation’s first supermarket chains and one of North America’s largest. It currently operates more than 680 supermarkets in 15 states, the District of Columbia, and Ontario, Canada.
