Eagle Food Centers Inc, which owns and operates supermarkets in Illinois and Iowa, has accepted bids for certain assets of five of its stores. AlbertsonÕs
Eagle Food Centers Inc, which owns and operates supermarkets in Illinois and Iowa, has accepted bids for certain assets of five of its stores.

AlbertsonÕs Inc emerged as the successful bidder for these Illinois store locations: Morris, Dixon, New Lenox, Peru, and Geneseo, including the building and land of the Geneseo site.

Eagle intends to submit the results of the Aug 29, 2003, auction for approval by the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Illinois at a Sept 11, 2003, hearing in Chicago IL.

The company continues to pursue opportunities for the remainder of its stores.
