DB Schenker, a global transportation and logistics company that provides refrigerated transport among many other services, is celebrating National Hispanic Heritage Month, which runs through Oct 15, with “Women in Logistics” Facebook Live interviews.
In a question-and-answer format hosted by DB Schenker’s Christine Alexis, social media manager for the Americas, DB Schenker employees talk about their Latina heritage and working in the logistics industry, and share their thoughts on diversity and inclusion.

- Joanna Benech, senior trade lane ocean analyst, LATAM: Benech has been in the logistics field for 26 years. In her role at DB Schenker, Benech’s responsibilities include pricing and procurement for US and LAT/AM trade. She is intensely proud of her Cuban roots and what she has accomplished in her career through hard work, dedication and work ethic.
- Marina Diez-Glomb, senior training instructor, Americas region: An Argentina native, Diez-Glomb’s logistics career started at DB Schenker, where she is tasked with diversity and inclusion training grounded in building and practicing skills all employees can apply to their business careers, as well as for personal advancement. For Diez-Glomb, Hispanic Heritage Month is an opportunity to celebrate our differences, and learn, laugh and connect positively with each other.
- Andreina Gutierrez, global account manager, vertical market industrial, Americas region: Originally from Venezuela, Gutierrez has been working in logistics for more than 24 years. At DB Schenker, her responsibilities include providing the highest level of support and customized solutions for customers. Gutierrez, like many Latinos, feels Hispanic Heritage Month is the perfect opportunity to appreciate the many valuable contributions Hispanic Americans have made to the country.
- Andrea Melendez, HR manager, Americas region: With 10 years in the logistics industry as a relocation specialist, Melendez has managed the many relocation details for hundreds of employees, so they can stay focused on their job. Growing up in Miami FL allowed her to embrace and observe the unique contributions Hispanics have made to the local community.
