Henningsen Cold Storage is celebrating its 90 years of service in the pubic refrigerated warehousing industry.

The company, originally named Northwestern Ice & Cold Storage, was founded May 17, 1923, by Waldemar Henningsen, an immigrant from Denmark, as a small ice business in Portland OR. The key to his success was outstanding customer service based on four principles: reliability, service, quality, and commitment.

Today, Henningsen Cold Storage is a leading provider of full-service, multi-temperature warehousing and logistics services. The firm offers a variety of third-party logistics (3PL) services throughout its network of multi-temperature facilities in Idaho, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, and Washington. The company specializes in frozen and refrigerated warehousing, transportation management, and other services to meet the needs of local, regional, national, and international food companies.

“We are fortunate to be a fourth-generation, family-owned, private company in this day and age of equity group and REIT ownership in our industry,” said Mike Henningsen Jr, company chairman and president. “I am very proud to be a part of this milestone and eagerly look forward to the next 90 years.”
