Cleveland OH food bank integrates AiroCide air sanitation technology

The Greater Cleveland Food Bank is the largest hunger relief organization in northeast Ohio, having provided nearly 39 million meals in 2013 to hungry people in six Northeast Ohio counties. This food bank serves more than 700 member agencies and operates a community food distribution center, providing food and other critical grocery products annually to more than 700 local food pantries, hot meal programs, shelters, mobile pantries, programs for the elderly, and other non-profit agencies. “I just wanted to let you know that your Airocide units are now installed and in operation, and we’re already noticing a difference,” said Michael P Miller, vice-president of operations at the food bank. “The most noticeable change was with tomatoes. We used to store tomatoes out in the warehouse, because a 37-degree cooler is too cold. If we were to hold tomatoes as long as two weeks, they would liquefy.
