Lineage Logistics, a warehousing and logistics company backed by principal investment firm Bay Grove, is beginning an expansion of its Tacoma WA cold storage distribution facility. The new project will be completed in 2015 and will nearly triple the building’s frozen warehouse capacity. With the expansion, Lineage’s leading presence in the region will total nearly 1.5 million square feet of refrigerated warehousing space across five Washington-area warehouses in Seattle, Algona, Tacoma, and Centralia. “We are excited to actively support our customers’ growth by providing expanded warehousing and logistics solutions in Tacoma,” said Bill Hendricksen, chief executive officer of Lineage Logistics. “The expansion, combined with our strong regional team and our continued investment in new building innovations, will enrich our world-class solution offering in the Pacific Northwest.”

Adam Forste, managing director of Bay Grove, said, “We appreciate the support we’ve received from the Port of Tacoma for this important project. We are pleased that this investment coincides with the newly announced Seaport Alliance that will support new jobs and enhance the region’s leading role in international trade.” “We are highly supportive of Lineage’s continued significant investments in the port’s supply chain infrastructure,” said Scott Francis, director of real estate for the Port of Tacoma. “We are confident our partnership with Lineage Logistics will continue to flourish and create further strategic advantages to our customers and for the region.” The expansion will include new innovations in energy efficiency and automation, as well as expanded dock capacity to accommodate cross-dock activity and intermodal rail business. Located at 2302 Milwaukee Way in Tacoma, the facility has immediate access to the Port of Tacoma, connects directly with Interstate 5, I-90, SR167, and SR18 highways and has rail access through Union Pacific and BNSF switches. Lineage Freight Management also offers transportation services within the region and nationally. Go to www.lineagelogistics.com or www.bay-grove.com for further information.
