The Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) has a new online resource for forklift safety in the workplace. The Powered Industrial Trucks (Forklift) eTool is the agency’s latest web-based training tool.

It provides a review of potential hazards, along with a summary of key OSHA requirements and industry-recommended practices for forklift operations.

The eTool includes four modules that examine: the differing types and fundamentals of powered-truck types of forklifts, basic operating rules and safe work practices, how workplace conditions can affect safe operation, and operator training required by OSHA.

Go to www.osha.gov/SLTC/etools/pit/ to access the resource.
