Challenger Trucking recently moved into a new 25,000-square-foot, temperature-controlled warehouse and trucking terminal in Commerce CA.

The new Challenger terminal includes a refrigerated cross dock that accommodates 14 dock doors and a chilled cooler that holds up to 700 pallets of chilled fresh product, as well as a frozen cooler for storing and distributing up to 300 frozen pallets daily, the company said.

“Temperature-controlled cross dock consolidation centers have a specialized role in moving products quickly on their journey to the customer,” said Joseph Comella, president of Challenger Trucking.

“Our terminal expansion will boost Challenger Trucking’s frozen and chilled LTL distribution footprint in Southern California, as our former warehouse was at full capacity daily. We outgrew the former facility in less than three years, and with our new out-of-state chilled and frozen LTL services, this new facility will allow us to unload trucks and reload trucks at a faster rate, therefore utilizing our drivers and equipment to be much more productive within the hours of service rule.

“Our goal is to be known as a driver-friendly facility to load and unload in an expeditious time frame.”

Challenger Trucking currently services San Diego county, Orange Country, Imperial County, San Bernardino, Riverside and Los Angeles County. The company also services Central Valley and major cities along US 99 and I-5, and offers out-of-state service in Utah, Colorado, Phoenix, and Las Vegas NV.
