RLS Complete celebrates new Massachusetts facility

Oct. 25, 2022
New temperature-controlled warehouse in Sturbridge, designed and built by Ti Cold, features 83,000 sq. ft. of refrigerated storage and an advanced racking system.

RLS Logistics recently celebrated the completion of an affiliate partner’s full-service refrigerated warehouse in Sturbridge, Massachusetts. The Oct. 20 event, which included tours and demonstrations of the new facility’s capabilities, featured local and national dignitaries, and was open the public, RLS said.

The 83,000-sq.-ft. temperature-controlled facility boasts 18,000 pallet positions supported by an advanced mobile racking system that allows the warehouse to house 40-45% more pallet positions than standard double-deep racking. The building also uses an environmentally friendly refrigeration system that consumes less electricity than traditional ammonia-based systems, reinforcing sustainability initiatives, the company said.

“We are thrilled to be opening our doors and welcoming customers and community members to our facility,” said Bryan Hedge, president and regional partner at RLS Complete. “I am proud of our team for bringing this project to the finish line and celebrating the grand reveal with everyone at the open house. We look forward to a bright future in the Sturbridge community and the surrounding New England region.”

RLS Complete worked with cold storage construction firm Ti Cold to design and build the energy-efficient facility, which provides state-of-the-art warehouse management, and value-added services for refrigerated food providers.

“We are very excited to have this opportunity to continue our valued partnership with RLS Complete in support of this important project,” said Sam Tippmann, president of Ti Cold. “We are proud to partner with RLS and support their team as the company grows.”
