Latest addition to the growing Lineage network includes three warehouses in Washington state that total 24 million cu. ft. and 85,000 pallet positions.

Lineage recently acquired three warehouses totaling approximately 24 million cu. ft. and 85,000 pallet positions from Bellingham Cold Storage.

The acquired assets include three locations on the West Coast of Washington state: The Bellingham Waterfront warehouse center, the Orchard/I-5 warehouse center, and the Burlington dry location.

The acquisition expands Lineage’s network in the U.S. Pacific Northwest region, which today includes 40 located facilities across Washington, Oregon, and Idaho, the company reported. Additionally, the acquisition adds a warehousing footprint at the Port of Bellingham, a critical hub for seafood and agricultural products.

“We are pleased to welcome Bellingham Cold Storage into the Lineage family. This strategic acquisition positions us to better serve customers in the Pacific Northwest and beyond,” Brian Beattie, Lineage president of North America West, said in a news release. “Bellingham has long been a cornerstone of the seafood and agriculture industries, and these facilities will allow us to offer additional supply chain solutions for our customers.

“BCS is an important business in the community of Bellingham, and we look forward to continuing that tradition and supporting the local economy. Additionally, the Port of Bellingham is a valued and long-standing partner to BCS, and we’re committed to further building that relationship. Between the Port’s ongoing modernization project and the fantastic, dedicated BCS team members who will join the Lineage team, we have many reasons to be excited about this acquisition. Lineage is better positioned than ever to be the premier cold chain partner in the Pacific Northwest.”

Doug Thomas, Bellingham president and CEO, said the acquisition shows Lineage values Bellingham as one of the “highest-quality” cold chain operations in North America.

“I am confident they will be fantastic stewards of the business, maintaining our excellent track record of customer service and providing a welcoming home to our team members,” he said. “On behalf of the BCS board and leadership team, I would like to express sincere gratitude to those who have contributed to our success over the past 79 years.

“Looking to the future, I look forward to seeing our combined teams continue to lead the way in employee and customer satisfaction in the cold chain.”
