JBS Carriers announces its new JBS Logistics Center, which is opening June 6, 2011, in Gainesville GA.
The new office will expand the company’s capacity and add revenue by allowing it to work with outside carriers to transport products across the 48 contiguous US states.
According to Todd Gooch, director of logistics, opening the new office was a crucial step in making JBS Carriers even more competitive.
“Adding the logistics division allows us to be more competitive in today’s transportation marketplace,” said Gooch. “As we continue to expand our service lines, this brings us one step closer to becoming a nationally recognized provider of transportation services.”
JBS Logistics will continue to contract with beef and pork producers from JBS and chicken producers from sister company Pilgrim’s Pride, and it will now also contract with outside shippers and manufacturers to match services, routes, and products.
Logistics Manager Neil Satterfield will oversee the Gainesville operation, which will initially employ a staff of six. Gooch estimates that staff will double by the end of 2011.
JBS Carriers is a division of JBS USA, headquartered in Greeley CO. Parent company JBS SA, headquartered in Brazil, is the world’s largest animal protein producer.
