Hanson Logistics, a provider of third-party temperature-controlled supply chain services, has signed a multi-year agreement with Dole Packaged Foods for that company to lease Hanson’s Decatur MI facility.
South of Interstate 94, the Decatur facility has a capacity of 1.4 million cubic feet that includes food processing space. The frozen and refrigerated facility can handle 7,500 pallet positions configured for bulk and processed fruit and vegetables.
The Decatur site is one of eight Hanson temperature-controlled facilities in a network designed to support agricultural production and storage of food products, as well as high-velocity finished goods distribution for CPG companies.
Hanson is constructing a 14,500,000-cu-ft Chicago Consolidation Center scheduled for first-phase completion Sept 15, 2007.
