To consolidate its operations, Monterey Gourmet Foods has signed a 10-year lease effective Jan 1, 2008, for a 93,000-square-foot facility in Kent WA. The refrigerated food producer and distributor plans to use the building for production, storage, warehousing, and office space.
The company had been leasing four different facilities in the greater Seattle WA area to store and manufacture products. It says the Kent facility will be certified organic under United States Department of Agriculture guidelines and will adhere to or exceed all new environmental standards.
Besides the Seattle area, Monterey has manufacturing and distribution operations in Salinas (Monterey County) CA and Eugene OR. It distributes its products in more than 10,000 retail and club stores in the United States and parts of Canada, the Caribbean, Latin America, and the Asia Pacific region.
