Dallas TX-based refrigerated carrier Frozen Food Express Industries Inc has issued its financial and operating results for the first quarter of 2007.

Revenue for the first quarter totaled $106.5 million, compared with $123.6 million during the same quarter of 2006. Not including fuel surcharge, revenue fell 13.9% to $91.8 million from $106.6 million for the first quarter of 2006. Freight brokerage operations revenue rose 6.9% to $3.1 million versus $2.9 million for the same period a year earlier.

FFEX sustained a net loss from continuing operations of $233,000 in contrast to net income from continuing operations of $2.1 million in the same quarter of 2006. In 2006, the company had a loss from discontinued operations of $145,000.
