LTI Trucking Services, a refrigerated truckload specialist, has signed with TRANSFLO Express, the truckstop scanning network from Pegasus TransTech.
With a fleet of 200 tractors and 300 trailers, LTI operates across 48 states with 250 employees handling temperature-controlled products. The company is a partner in the SmartWay program of the US Environmental Protection Agency.
According to Sherry Hehle, LTI’s controller, adoption of TRANSFLO Express is consistent with her company’s history of innovation. As another example, she said the company will soon move to paperless driver logs.
Using TRANSFLO Express means documents such as signed delivery receipts need no longer be sent by courier from the road to the office, where envelopes had to be opened and paper-scanned.
“We want everything done through this system,” Hehle said of TRANSFLO Express. LTI drivers have been using the service since early January.
“The drivers have gotten used to it very quickly,” Hehle said. “It has worked out for them because they feel comfortable that their paperwork has been received by this office and that they’re going to get paid in a timely manner.”
LTI, which will soon be headquartered in downtown St Louis MO, is one of many carriers that have turned to TRANSFLO Express recently. The service is now available at almost 800 locations including all Pilot Travel Centers, Flying J branded truckstops, and Love’s Travel Stops and Country Stores, as well as scores of independent truckstops.
