Nova Scotia-based food distributor Sobeys Inc plans to deploy Safefreight Technology's trailer temperature monitoring and GPS fleet management system

Nova Scotia-based food distributor Sobeys Inc plans to deploy Safefreight Technology's trailer temperature monitoring and GPS fleet management system on 90 trailers that transport temperature-sensitive food products to 189 retail stores and three distribution centers in western Canada.

The technology will determine vehicle locations, audit inventory movement between distribution centers and stores, and monitor up to three temperature zones within its refrigerated trailers.

Sobeys will also use the system to check on the open/closed status of trailer doors to tell if food shipments have been exposed to any potentially unsafe conditions.
