American Fast Freight Inc and American Relocation Services, a division of American Fast Freight, are expanding and will be opening their newest and largest freestanding cargo terminal in all of Kodiak Island, Alaska, on May 2, 2014.
The American Fast Freight Kodiak Terminal is a 6,000-square-foot terminal built two miles from the Port of Kodiak and has direct, easy access for deliveries via temperature-controlled trailers, 40-ft containers, and flat racks. Interstate cargo coming from the lower 48 will be consolidated at American Fast Freight’s terminal in Anchorage, along with intra-Alaska cargo, and then moved via a number of different options including steamship, barge, and ferry into Kodiak.
American Fast Freight will deliver cargo across the island via its dedicated fleet of island trucks that will be pulling 40-ft temperature-controlled and flat rack trailers. In addition, American Relocation Services will be able to provide an array of moving needs including household goods moves, commercial and residential moves, military moves via certified movers, and complete full-service moves.
No stranger to Kodiak Island, American Fast Freight has been shipping cargo to the island for decades. With the addition of a terminal to now call home, the new facility will allow the company to provide higher-quality service and better manage delivery times for residents and businesses in the city of Kodiak and across the entire island.
American Fast Freight’s newly expanded operations in Kodiak will include having its own dedicated equipment and local staff based there. These new operational procedures will allow the firm to meet long-term goals in Kodiak.
