To address increased demand from the cold chain sector, Ryder Europe is adding 60 new 13.6-meter tri-axle single-compartment refrigerated trailers to its trailer rental fleet. This order for new trailers has been divided with 40 going to Montracon and 20 to Schmitz Cargobull. All trailers will feature a 2.6-meter internal loading height, one-piece sealed aluminum floors, and Carrier Vector 1550 refrigeration units equipped with Datacold temperature recorder and printer.
“We already have nearly 400 refrigerated trailers in our rental fleet, but a high level of customer demand has prompted us to make a significant investment in increasing our capacity,” said David Hunt, vice-president and managing director of Ryder Europe. “The new trailers will be available to both rental and contract hire customers and will further support Ryder’s confidence in, and long-term commitment to, the commercial vehicle and trailer rental and lease market.” Established in 1971, Ryder Europe now provides a fleet of more than 22,500 trucks and trailers. The European business focuses on commercial vehicle rental, contract hire, and maintenance, operating from 29 locations with dedicated delivery services supplied by another 23 facilities. Ryder Europe is part of Ryder System Inc, a provider of commercial fleet management and supply chain systems. For further details, access www.ryder.com.
