Dot Transportation Inc (DTI), a wholly owned subsidiary of food redistribution company Dot Foods, has named transport industry product and service provider Craftsmen Trailer as DTI’s 2013 Vendor of the Year. DTI honored Craftsmen and its Utility brand of custom trailers at its 2014 Vendor Golf Outing in the trucking company’s headquarters of Mount Sterling IL.
This is the third time DTI has recognized Craftsmen Trailer with the Vendor of the Year award; the company also received the award in 2001 and 2006. Craftsmen Trailer has a long history, with 30 years of service, and it still holds a commitment to the growth and prosperity of the transportation industry.
“We work hard to provide solutions for all business types—from owner-operators to large fleets,” said Lou Helmsing of Craftsmen Trailer. “It’s a great honor to have a business partner like Dot Transportation recognize that hard work. We thank our employees, who are the backbone of everything we do, and we thank the entire Dot Transportation family.”
Dot Transportation determines the winner through a variety of metrics and a scorecard system that rates vendors 1-5 in areas such as products, service, and reliability. Results are tracked from year-to-year and used with other variables to determine the Vendor of the Year.
“Dot Transportation works with about 30 vendors each year, each one key to our success, so winning the Vendor of the Year Award is no small feat,” said Kevin Buss, DTI’s director of fleet maintenance. “Craftsmen went above and beyond, providing us with continued great support and quality products that work best in our day-to-day operations. We congratulate Craftsmen on the win, and we look forward to many more years of partnership. They make extra effort to understand our business and work with us to find best solutions and products to fit our needs.”
The annual golf outing consists of approximately 30 vendors who are invited each year for lunch, a business update, awards presentation, a day of golfing with a three-hole scramble, and dinner.
DTI specializes in delivering mixed loads of frozen, refrigerated, and dry products across the United States for redistributor Dot Foods and other shippers.
The company is looking to fill positions for full- and part-time drivers in all locations nationwide. To learn more about careers with the firm, go to www.DriveForDot.com.
